Jason Bennett

Sector: Healthcare
Time with acl: 15 years

Jason is a Contract Manager at ACL and has been with the company for 15 years.

Background

Jason began studying Business & Finance at college before deciding he wanted a more active lifestyle as opposed to being stuck in a classroom. This led him to embark on his journey with us as an Apprentice studying electrical installation. After 3 years Jason graduated as an apprentice and began work with us as a fully-fledged fire and security engineer.

Having been this position for 8 years Jason was promoted to Supervisor, and then again after 2 years to contracts manager, the position Jason is in now. With 15 years within the industry, Jason has extensive knowledge on our business and the services we offer.

Life as a contracts manager

Typically stationed on site at one of our West London Hospital Trust sites, Jason spends his time planning labour, designing fire and security systems across the 8 NHS facilities he and his team look after. Jason will often take the position of lead engineer on certain projects; this allows him to over see the project closely and ensure all goes to plan. This is a real benefit as although Jason is now in a HQ role he still gets the opportunity to be out in the field when needs be. As Jason is mostly stationed on site, clients are able to feel a sense of security knowing if any problems were to arise Jason and his team are closely on hand to help.

"Despite our growth ACL still feels like a family. I love that you can see the clear progression from apprentice to engineering or management"

The best part of the job

Jason has a very close-knit team, most of which are apprentices who he helped train to be the highly skilled engineers they are today. Working with the NHS is very rewarding as you can see directly how your work is helping others in need and keeping people safe.
